Job Purpose

The Enterprise Architect is a key role responsible for defining and maintaining the enterprise architecture framework, strategy, and principles to ensure alignment between business objectives and technology solutions across Hoya's global business. This position plays a critical role in shaping the organization's technology landscape, promoting innovation, and driving efficiency.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Enterprise Architecture Strategy

- Develop and communicate the enterprise architecture strategy and roadmap.

- Define and maintain architectural principles, standards, and guidelines.

- Ensure alignment of architecture with business goals and objectives.

- Identify opportunities for architectural improvements and innovations.

2. Solution Design and Assessment

- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business and technology requirements.

- Create architectural designs and solution blueprints for complex projects.

- Assess and validate proposed solutions for adherence to architectural standards.

- Conduct impact assessments for technology changes on the enterprise architecture.

3. Technology Evaluation and Adoption

- Make recommendations for technology adoption and implementation.

- Monitor industry best practices and standards to inform architecture decisions.

- Collaborate with IT leadership to establish technology roadmaps.

- Be intimate with the advancements and emerging technologies that form part of the strategic technology landscape in order to lend credibility to strategic plans and product selection.

4. Governance and Compliance

- Define and implement enterprise architecture governance processes.

- Ensure compliance with architecture standards and principles.

- Responsible for the process of Architecture Review, which includes the maintenance, organization and improvement of the Architecture Review Board process.

- Responsible for the maintenance and development of key reference architectures and architecture artefacts including the Technical Reference Model, Business Capability Model, Architecture Principles and Architecture design templates.

- Provide guidance to project teams on architectural compliance.

5. Stakeholder Engagement

- Act as a trusted advisor, build and maintain relationships with business partners to develop a clear understanding of business needs and opportunities for key pivots in strategy and technology approach to enable value.

- Facilitate discussions to resolve architecture-related challenges.

- Present and communicate architectural decisions and strategies to diverse audiences.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior management and key stakeholders.

6. Architecture Documentation

- Create and maintain comprehensive architecture documentation.

- Develop architecture models, diagrams, and documentation to aid in understanding.

- Ensure that architecture artifacts are up-to-date and accessible to relevant parties.

- Document and communicate architectural decisions and trade-offs.

7. Performance Optimization

- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, organization design & development and the ability to lead transformational initiatives in complex and dynamic environments.

- Identify opportunities for optimizing technology investments and reducing complexity.

- Provide recommendations for performance improvements and cost savings.

- Collaborate with IT teams to implement architectural changes for optimization.

Internal Relationships:

- Business leaders and stakeholders.

- IT leadership and cross functional teams.

- Project managers and solution architects.

External Relationships:

- Technology vendors and solution providers.

- Industry associations and forums.

Education/Training Qualifications:

- Degree qualified or higher education in IT, Engineering, or related business degree

- Certification in enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) is advantageous.

- Project Management (Prince2, PMP)

- Cloud Architecture Certifications (e.g. Azure, AWS)

- Security Certifications (CISSP, CISM, CCSP CRISC)

Experience:

- At least 15 years of experience in varying IT roles focused on strategy, architecture, engineering, delivery and/or operations with increasing levels of responsibility.

- At least 7-8 years of experience in enterprise architecture and at least one of the following IT disciplines: application development, data or infrastructure in a corporate or equivalent consulting environment.

- Experience in the development of Enterprise Information Technology Governance processes and practices aligned to an industry standard framework (e.g. COBIT)

- Experience of Cyber Security Risk Management in a global organization utilizing widely accepted frameworks (ISO27001, NIST, COBIT)

- Demonstrated experience influencing key decision makers/senior/C-level executives and large, cross-functional teams.

- Previous experience with delivering strategy, roadmaps, reference architecture and standards.

- Exposure to Operational Technology Architecture in a manufacturing or engineering context is welcome

- Demonstrated experience in defining and implementing enterprise architecture strategies.

- Strong understanding of technology trends and their impact on business.
