Job Description

Job Summary

The Engineering Supervisor provides technical expertise and leadership in the planning and execution of engineering projects, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, productivity, cost, and schedule requirements. In addition to overseeing engineering construction activities. The Engineering Supervisor assists business units with project estimations, reviews tender documents, and participates in project meetings. The role involves providing technical advice, coordinating with various teams to resolve technical queries and issues, monitoring contractor performance, and facilitating project handover and mechanical completion activities. He/she also plays a key role in driving compliance with external regulations and organizational standards, promoting continuous improvement in business operations, and ensuring close coordination across teams and stakeholders for successful project delivery.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Compliance and Safety
  • Ensure compliance with the organizational Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies and Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
  • Ensure that contractors and vendors comply with the organizational WSH and EMS standards and practices
  • Implement sustainable engineering procedures and guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental regulations and organizational standards.

2. Project Planning and Execution

  • Identify required work permits and approvals based on regulatory and legislative prerequisites
  • Implement organizational approaches to resolve conflicts and disputes
  • Conduct constructability and feasibility reviews for engineering designs
  • Develop construction sequence and project plans for engineering construction activities
  • Provide discipline engineering support for project scoping, procurement and contractor selection
  • Communicate quality standards and guidelines to construction teams
  • Monitor contractor performance on engineering construction activities
  • Provide technical support for root cause analysis and troubleshooting
  • Oversee installation and assembly of equipment based on design drawings.
  • Oversee all aspects of assigned projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards

3. Supervision and Team Management

  • Implement risk management plans and risk controls within the team
  • Monitor resource availability to support business operations
  • Provide inputs on team's recruitment, training and development needs
  • Ensure adherence to planned budgets and financial forecasts
  • Propose improvements to business processes and operations to drive continuous improvement
  • Monitor employee performance by utilizing performance management systems
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to project teams, including root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with design specifications.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train a team fostering a productive work environment and promoting professional development.

Job Qualifications

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field).

Experience: With at least 5-7 years experience in similar role.
