What You'll Do
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our manufacturing engineering function. This role is critical in driving operational efficiency, cost reduction, and continuous improvement through innovative processes and technologies. You will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing methods, tooling, and equipment to ensure high-quality production at optimal cost.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Manufacturing Engineering: Plan and direct engineering operations to support plant objectives and ensure efficient production processes.
- Budget & Capital Planning: Prepare and manage capital budgets for process upgrades and cost-saving initiatives.
- Process Innovation: Stay current with technology trends; develop and justify new methods and machinery to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Product Design Collaboration: Partner with Product Engineering to optimize product designs for efficient assembly and quality.
- Performance Monitoring: Review project progress, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions.
- Standards & Layout Development: Establish standards, methods, and plant layouts for cost-effective use of labor, materials, and facilities.
- Environmental Compliance: Coordinate compliance activities, maintain records, conduct audits, and ensure continuous improvement.
- Leadership: Supervise skilled trades and engineering teams, including tool and die, machine setup, and maintenance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Machine Design, Power Electronics, or Electrical Engineering); Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years in engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong background in manufacturing operations.
- Expertise in SPC and process engineering disciplines (Control Plan, DFMEA, PFMEA, Labor Standards).
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in MS Project, Word, Excel, CAD, Pre-E, etc.
