Role Description

The Engineering & Maintenance Manager will oversee daily maintenance and engineering operations, ensuring all equipment is functioning efficiently and safely. Responsibilities include planning and implementing preventive maintenance programs, managing repair activities, supervising a team of technicians, and optimizing the performance and longevity of equipment. The Manager will also ensure compliance with safety regulations, coordinate with other departments for operational support, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Valenzuela City.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Mechanical Engineering or any related engineering course
  • Preferably Licensed Mechanical or Electrical Engineer
  • Extensive plant level management
  • Ability to manage variety of cross functional team members
  • Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making.
  • Technical capability and understanding

Additional Job Description:

  • Develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out, plan in missed maintenance activities, and lead the team to deliver effectively.
  • Optimise equipment according to standard procedure, enhancing performance and product quality, ensuring the achievement of all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
  • Ensure that designated buildings, plant and facilities are fit for purpose and to provide proactive support/solutions when required.
  • Develop clear accountability for maintenance material spend combined with a strategy to manage expenditure.
  • Manage systems and equipment data storage and maintain high levels of standards and accuracy.
  • Manage the process of the introduction of new machinery, plant and equipment from drawing up the specification, to managing suppliers through to full installation in collaboration with all relevant parties.
  • Manage the process of disposal of obsolete machinery, plant and equipment from gaining agreement to write off to physically removing it and its safe and lawful disposal.
  • Provide technical expertise to the team.
  • Identify and deploy the technical skill sets, resource levels and systems to deliver projects, including the engagement of external resources as required.
  • Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility.
  • Ensure KPIs are met by working to the overall plan, including management of, and reporting.
  • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.
  • Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements.
  • Prepare the annual Maintenance budget and forecasts and all Capital Expenditure proposals as well as ensuring compliance with legal standards. Manage the budget from identification to completion of projects.
  • Ensures that all personnel and employee under his/her leadership/responsibility are provided appropriate direction, leadership, guidance, support, and training to enable the advancement of their knowledge and experience in the operations of the overall plant energy and related mechanical systems environment.
  • Assumes responsibility for the performance of employees in the area of responsibility by spot checking work in the area, evaluating the quality of the work performed, and coordinating with the Section Manager and HR Manager to develop management tools to evaluate personnel and trade related performance.
  • Enforces Company rules and policies regarding employee conduct by advising all assigned employees about the Company's rules and policies on employee conduct issuing verbal warnings and written reprimands for violations, and recommending progressive disciplinary action to the Section Manager and HR Manager as necessary.
  • Facilitates a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or ethnicities.
