Job Description
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Geologist to provide geological and geotechnical input to hydropower development, with particular emphasis on assessing geological conditions for tunnels and other major underground works.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct geological assessments for hydropower projects.
- Assess geological conditions relevant to dams, tunnels, powerhouses, waterways, and other infrastructure.
- Evaluate tunnel ground conditions and potential geological risks.
- Review geological maps, site investigation data, borehole information, and geological models.
- Identify geological hazards and their potential impact on project design and construction.
- Provide recommendations for tunnel alignment, support requirements, and construction considerations.
- Coordinate geological investigations and interpret field and laboratory results.
- Contribute to feasibility studies, design reviews, and technical reports.
- Support engineering teams in addressing geological uncertainties and risks.
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in hydropower geology.
- Proven experience in tunnel conditions assessment and underground works.
- Strong knowledge of engineering geology, geological investigations, and ground-risk assessment.
- Experience working on hydropower or major infrastructure projects.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline.
- Strong technical-reporting and field-assessment capabilities.
