Job Summary:
The Engineering Design Manager leads and coordinates team members dedicated for a specific business unit (BU), overseeing the design process from concept to execution while ensuring projects align with standards and deadlines. They are responsible for setting design strategies, mentoring staff, reviewing technical quality, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions.
The Engineering Design Manager plays a pivotal role in bridging his/her team members with the requirements and standards of the assigned business unit.

Key Responsibilities:
- Use design management delivery tools to monitor and control project coordination arrangements, including reporting on various inputs and outputs for overall project progress tracking and delivery.
- Supports more senior staff within the RED Global Engineering Center team with delegated tasks in delivery of output. Typical tasks may include preparation of reports, action trackers, coordinating multi discipline activity.
- Manage the design and interfaces between disciplines.
- Prepare design programs to meet overall project timelines and to achieve required permitting deadlines.
- Carry out independent reading and research to support delivery of output.
- Ensures document control requirements are fulfilled prior to issue of information by making sure drawings have correct titles etc. and are in correct order.
- Coordinate teams to deliver coherent and well-rehearsed face to face page turn presentations
- Manage virtual design teams working across multiple times zones.
- Quickly understand clients process and develop supporting tool.
- Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
· Support the delivery of projects in accordance with the expectations of the RED Project Delivery Process from a Project Management, Financial Management, QA/QC and Technical Review perspective
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of engineers & BIM specialists, fostering a high-performance culture and driving professional development
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of experience, 8 to 10 years in supervisor/managerial role
- Desirable background in architectural, engineering, project management consulting or construction
- Experience in design management and engineering track record with some experience of data centers or other large scale mixed-use projects or critical facilities
- Understanding of key disciplines and interactions on a building/data centre project with a track record in at least one of the key disciplines involved in design and construction including; architecture, structures, civils, mechanical, plumbing, fire, electrical, security, telecoms (ICT), sustainability, permitting and environmental
- Knowledge of design management and project management principals, process and reporting methodologies
- Enthusiastic, driven and dynamic self-starter with career progression aspirations
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the design process

- Possess exceptional clear communication skills and command of English spoken/written
