Job Description:

(POSITION SUMMARY)

We are looking for an NCG or Junior Test Engineer who will be responsible for the Test Development and Production Release of Microchip's 32-bit SAM/PIC32 microcontrollers. The successful candidate will interact with diverse, talented, and inspired multi-function groups from Architecture, Design, Applications, Validation, Verification, and Marketing to develop test solutions to validate, qualify, characterize, and productize our industry-leading, next-generation, cutting-edge SAM/PIC32 products. Test solutions encompass a wide range of circuitry involving digital, analog, memory, DFT/BIST, and security modules. The position demands a keen ability to debug, root cause, and creatively solve problems to define solutions to new and abstract problems involving systems and processes and to take informed risks to influence the direction of teams, projects, and organizations. Finally, the position requires leadership behaviors and excellent verbal and multimedia skills to communicate complex ideas and difficult subjects.

(PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES/EXPECTATIONS)

(Factory)

  • Achieve 99% Test Yield within 4 quarters of Product Introduction.
  • Achieve Single Insertion testing within 4 quarters of Product Introduction.
  • Achieve Quality (ppm), Throughput, and Cost manufacturing targets within 4 quarters of Product Introduction.

(NPD)

  • Develop innovative, efficient, and stable Test solutions that advance project indicators and milestones.
  • Design ATE hardware interfaces that support engineering innovation and/or maximize product throughput with right-the-first time quality.
  • Design code/algorithm for Test module development, automation, and data collection and analysis.
  • Deliver Production Test Program 2 weeks ahead of schedule.
  • Provide quality inputs in Project reviews.
  • Inspire the workplace through role modeling of Microchip's Guiding Values.

Requirements/Qualifications:

(JOB REQUIREMENTS)

  • BS degree or higher in Electronics/Electrical/Computer Engineering or Semiconductor Physics.
  • Zero to 2 years of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) experience and knowledge. Experience and knowledge in D1X/D10, Magnum, J750 ATEs a plus but not a must.
