Job Description

Position: Engineer (Electrical)

Date: April 2026

Location: Singapore

Reports to: Team Lead / Senior Engineer

Purpose:

  • The Electrical Engineer provides competent, independent electrical engineering support on projects of limited to moderate complexity, under the guidance of senior engineers. The role contributes to the design, coordination and delivery of electrical engineering solutions across project stages, applying established engineering principles, WSP standards and regulatory requirements to achieve high‑quality project outcomes

  • The role is responsible for supporting technical delivery and project activities from concept to completion, including design development, documentation, authority submissions and site support. In line with JAF P2 (Professional/Engineer) expectations, the role ensures compliance with quality and SHEQ standards, supports effective project administration, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams in line with job level capability expectations

  • The role leverages digital and emerging technologies, including data‑enabled and AI‑assisted engineering tools, to support efficient analysis, design development, documentation and coordination while maintaining professional engineering judgement.

Key Responsibility Areas

Responsibilities:

1) Design Delivery (Electrical Engineering Services)

  • Support and deliver electrical engineering design services for assigned projects.

  • Contribute to the delivery of electrical services across the full project lifecycle, including:
    - Concept design
    - Design development
    - Contract documentation
    - Authority submissions-
    Site administration and project completion

  • Carry out discipline‑specific electrical design tasks in accordance with applicable codes, standards and project briefs.

2) Technical Analysis, Documentation & Reviews

  • Solve routine and selected non‑routine electrical engineering problems within own discipline, with guidance from senior engineers.

  • Participate in and contribute to technical discussions on common electrical design issues.

  • Escalate complex technical matters appropriately while supporting the development of practical and compliant solutions.

  • Assist in maintaining high standards of design quality and construction delivery, aligned with company and project requirements.

3) Authority Interface & Submissions

  • Support the preparation and coordination of authority submissions relevant to electrical engineering scope (e.g. BCA, LTA, PUB, SP Group), in accordance with project stage and supervision requirements.

4) Stakeholder Management & Coordination

  • Work collaboratively within the project team and across disciplines to support coordinated design outcomes and project objectives.

  • Support effective communication and coordination with internal stakeholders and external parties, as appropriate to role and responsibility.

5) Quality, Safety & SHEQ

  • Participate in and support the Company's Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) requirements within the scope of duties.

  • Contribute to the maintenance of quality, safety and compliance standards across design and site‑related activities.

6) Digital, Data & AI‑Enabled Engineering Support

  • Use approved digital, generative and agentic AI tools to support electrical engineering analysis, design development and documentation tasks under supervision

  • Apply AI‑assisted tools to improve efficiency in load analysis checking, equipment sizing, design iteration and preparation of technical documentation

  • Support the use of AI‑enabled tools for data analysis, design option comparison, system performance assessments and early identification of design risks

  • Assist with automated or semi‑automated generation of design deliverables (e.g. calculation narratives, reports, schedules), ensuring outputs are reviewed and verified in accordance with engineering standards

  • Use digital tools to support multidisciplinary coordination, clash detection and resolution (e.g. via BIM‑enabled workflows)

  • Maintain awareness of ethical, quality, data security and regulatory considerations when using AI‑enabled tools in engineering activities

  • Escalate limitations or uncertainties arising from AI‑assisted outputs and apply professional engineering judgement at all times

Requirements:

  • Recognised Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, registrable with PEB Singapore

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in electrical design engineering, preferably within building services and/or infrastructure projects in Singapore

  • Knowledge of Singapore Codes of Practice, applicable standards and local authority submission processes (e.g. BCA, LTA, PUB, SP Group), appropriate to level of experience

  • Understanding of industry regulatory requirements and legislation relevant to electrical engineering services

  • Ability to apply established electrical engineering principles to deliver design tasks on projects of limited to moderate complexity

  • Experience supporting projects across multiple stages, including design development, documentation, authority submissions and site support

  • Working knowledge of design tools and systems relevant to electrical engineering BIM and CAD capabilities are an added advantage

  • Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, contributing effectively to project delivery

  • Commitment to maintaining quality, safety, health, environmental and compliance (SHEQ) standards within the scope of duties

  • Exposure to or interest in digital, computational or AI‑enabled engineering tools (e.g. BIM‑based automation, data analysis, AI‑assisted design or documentation tools) is an advantage.
