Overview
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, performs the maintenance and repair of engineering and special purpose equipment systems. The engineering and special purpose equipment mechanic is responsible for but not limited to ensuring compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) for the following functions: engineering and special purpose equipment systems

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, performs the maintenance and repair of engineering and special purpose equipment systems. The engineering and special purpose equipment mechanic is responsible for but not limited to ensuring compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) for the following functions: engineering and special purpose equipment systems
Responsibilities

- Analyzes deficiencies in equipment and supervises necessary
- Provides technical/operational guidance to ensure compliance with the PWS while delivering desired
- Inspects equipment and as necessary, conducts repairs or replaces faulty components using a variety of hand tools and
- Participates in the preventive and corrective maintenance
- Completes mechanical repairs or improvements on a variety of processes, equipment, fixtures, and unit
- Evaluates maintenance requests, sets priorities, and processes work
- Inspects hydraulic systems for wear, leaks and proper fluid level IAW manufacturer's
- Changes bearings, sprockets, chains, belts, shafts, cylinders, and other interchangeable
- Qualifications
- OCN Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 4 to 7 years of mechanical maintenance experience.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess specific training in the operation of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Must possess a current valid Driver's License.
- Skills:
- Requires ability to analyze the operation of various infrastructure systems, determine the cause of malfunctions, and take corrective actions as required
- Strong leadership and analytical skills
- Effective communication, organizational, interpersonal and people management skills.
- Working Conditions:
- Work is generally conducted in a shop environment; however, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions.
- Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, and Fire Regulations and published company work rules
- Physical Requirements:
- Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
