The Qualifications We Seek
Essential Requirements (Must Have)
- 1 to 3 years of demonstrated experience in C&I operations
- Strong working knowledge of the Australian electricity industry and market framework
- Proven experience working with billing software
- Solid understanding of metering processes, service orders, and C&I onboarding
- High attention to detail and system accuracy
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated dependability and ability to meet deadlines
- Agility and ability to reprioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional phone manner
- A collaborative, team-first attitude with willingness to step in when required
Highly Regarded
- Strong C&I billing experience including bill validation and exception handling
- Experience managing collections and overdue C&I accounts

Your Daily Tasks
Core Accountability
The C&I Operations Specialist is accountable for:
- Accurate and timely setup of C&I accounts and pricing plans
- Efficient management of metering and service orders
- Professional and responsive customer and broker communication
- Maintaining system accuracy and operational compliance
- Supporting billing validation and collections activities
- Contributing positively to a cohesive, high-performing team culture
Key Responsibilities
Account & System Configuration
- Create and maintain C&I customer accounts within the billing software
- Configure and validate pricing plans in line with contractual agreements
- Ensure all transfers are completed on time
- Complete quality assurance checks to ensure commercial terms such as rates, payment terms, and metering details are accurate before billing commencement
- Maintain complete and accurate onboarding documentation
Metering & Service Order Management
- Raise, track, and complete metering service orders within required timeframes
- Coordinate meter installations, exchanges, upgrades, and investigations
- Liaise with metering providers and distributors to ensure timely outcomes
- Resolve operational discrepancies promptly
Customer & Broker Communication
- Respond to phone and email enquiries promptly and professionally
- Manage operational, onboarding, and account-related queries
- Provide timely updates to brokers and internal stakeholders
- Take ownership of issues through to resolution
- Ensure roll-in and roll-out requests are actioned on time and communicated
Billing & Collections Support (Highly Regarded)
- Support C&I billing validation and exception management
- Assist in investigating billing discrepancies where required
- Monitor payments and initiate collections activity on overdue accounts according to company policy
- Contribute to revenue integrity and risk management
Team Contribution & Agility
- Work cohesively within the C&I team and provide support where needed
- Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and operational demands
- Demonstrate reliability and accountability in meeting deadlines
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Compliance & Escalation
- Maintain a strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements related to the role
- Follow incident management procedures and escalate issues to management when necessary
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and escalate them to management
