About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Employee Relations and Engagement Unit Head to lead the strategic design , and implementation of employee relations, employee engagement, and workplace climate initiatives that promote a fair, respectful, and high-performing work environment. The role is responsible for managing employee relations cases, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies, strengthening employee engagement programs, and fostering positive employeemanagement relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement the organizations Employee Relations and Engagement strategy aligned with business objectives, organizational values, and labor regulations.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders and managers on employee relations, engagement risks, and workforce climate issues.
  • Establish frameworks, policies, and governance mechanisms that promote fair treatment, consistency, and due process in employee relations.
  • Drive enterprise-wide employee engagement initiatives to strengthen organizational culture, morale, and retention.

Employee Relations Management

  • Oversee the end-to-end management of employee relations cases, including disciplinary actions, grievances, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure consistent application of the Code of Conduct, HR policies, and disciplinary procedures across the organization.
  • Conduct or supervise administrative investigations, fact-finding processes, and case documentation, ensuring fairness, confidentiality, and due process.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on employee relations matters, appropriate corrective actions, and people management issues.
  • Coordinate closely with Legal, Compliance, and Risk functions on sensitive cases, labor issues, and potential litigation exposure.

Employee Engagement & Workplace Climate

  • Design, implement, and manage employee engagement programs, initiatives, and activities that support a positive employee experience.
  • Lead the administration and analysis of employee engagement surveys, pulse surveys, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Translate engagement data and insights into actionable strategies, interventions, and leadership recommendations.
  • Partner with leaders and HR teams to implement engagement action plans and monitor progress.
  • Promote a culture of respect, inclusion, and open communication across all levels of the organization.

Policy, Compliance & Labor Relations

  • Lead the development, review, and continuous improvement of employee relations policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and internal policies in all employee relations and engagement practices.
  • Act as a key point of coordination in labor relations matters, including interactions with regulatory bodies or employee representatives, as applicable.
  • Identify employee relations trends, risks, and systemic issues, and recommend preventive and corrective measures.

Capability Building & Advisory Support

  • Build people management capability by coaching and advising leaders on employee relations, conflict management, and effective communication.
  • Support HR and business leaders in handling sensitive conversations, performance issues, and behavioral concerns.
  • Develop toolkits, guidelines, and training support for managers on employee relations and engagement topics.

Team & Program Oversight

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Employee Relations and Engagement team to ensure high-quality, timely, and consistent service delivery.
  • Oversee workload planning, case management standards, and service-level expectations.
  • Manage budgets, vendors, and external partners related to engagement activities or employee relations support services.

Required Competencies

  • Employee Relations Expertise: Strong knowledge of employee relations principles, disciplinary processes, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Labor Law & Policy Knowledge: Solid understanding of labor laws, compliance requirements, and HR governance frameworks.
  • Judgment & Ethical Decision-Making: Ability to handle sensitive cases with objectivity, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Stakeholder Management & Influence: Strong ability to advise, influence, and partner with leaders, employees, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Communication & Conflict Management: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage difficult conversations effectively.
