Job Description

Join our global team supporting Macquarie's centralised compliance operations, monitoring and assurance activities - a critical function responsible for the operational execution of the frameworks and policies relating to our key regulatory and compliance risks, with a focus on our personal compliance requirements.

We are a global financial services group operating in 30 markets with 57 years of unbroken profitability. At Macquarie, you're empowered to shape a career that is fulfilling and creates value. You will bring your insights and expertise to the task at hand and feel supported as you make your own kind of impact for a better future.

What role will you play

As an integral member of the Compliance team, you will be involved in driving operational efficiency and effectiveness across processes. You will lead and oversee the execution of compliance reviews using risk-based sampling methodologies, ensuring consistency, quality and adherence to internal standards, as well as provide day-to-day guidance and supervision to team members, including workload allocation, coaching and performance oversight to support timely and high-quality delivery of reviews and monitoring activities. A key focus of the role is to track, monitor and rigorously challenge remediation actions, ensuring robust root-cause analysis, timely closure, and sustainable resolution of identified issues.

You will be responsible for designing, enhancing and implementing quality control testing frameworks and procedures for both new and existing operations, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and internal policies. By analysing team outputs, you will identify trends, systemic issues and emerging risks, and proactively recommend actionable improvements to processes, controls and governance frameworks. You will also be involved in creating, reviewing and validating reports to ensure accurate, clear and timely communication of findings, risk insights and corrective actions to senior management and key stakeholders.

As a key escalation point for complex or high-risk issues, you will provide resolution guidance and ensure appropriate stakeholder engagement. You will lead training and capability development initiatives, including onboarding and continuous learning programs, to enhance team competency and performance. Additionally, you will provide subject matter expertise and advisory support on personal compliance matters, ensuring consistent and accurate guidance across the team. In close collaboration with stakeholders, you will ensure alignment, address issues, and support regulatory and business priorities, while driving continuous improvement initiatives through data, feedback, and best practices. You will also support strategic planning and resource management efforts, including capacity planning, prioritisation and process optimisation, and take on additional leadership and project responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and broader business goals.

What You Offer

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights to support risk and compliance decisions
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities, with a proven ability to clearly articulate complex issues, influence outcomes, and engage effectively across all organisational levels
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to coach, mentor and develop team members while fostering a high-performance, accountable and quality-driven culture
  • Advanced organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, allocate resources effectively, and consistently meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy
  • Proven experience in internal audit, compliance or delivery assurance within a highly regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles, controls testing and project assurance methodologies and standards
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and operate effectively in complex environments, balancing day-to-day operational delivery with broader strategic objectives
  • Strong commitment to continuous improvement and professional development, with a focus on enhancing processes, team capability and overall operational effectiveness.

We love hearing from anyone inspired to build a better future with us, if you're excited about the role or working at Macquarie we encourage you to apply.
