Role Description The Emergency Officer is a volunteer, on-site role based in Cotabato City, supporting UN emergency preparedness and response activities. The role involves assisting in the monitoring and reporting of humanitarian conditions, collecting and organizing data from field locations, and helping coordinate local emergency interventions with UN teams, partners, and community stakeholders. The Emergency Officer will support the implementation of contingency plans, contribute to situation analysis and briefings, and help ensure timely dissemination of information to relevant counterparts. Daily tasks may also include participating in coordination meetings, supporting logistical arrangements for emergency operations, and promoting adherence to humanitarian principles and UN policies.

Qualifications
- Strong skills in information gathering, analysis, and basic reporting for humanitarian or emergency contexts.
- Ability to coordinate with diverse stakeholders, including local authorities, community groups, and humanitarian partners.
- Capacity to work effectively in high-pressure situations, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages in Cotabato City is an asset.
- Demonstrated commitment to humanitarian principles, human rights, and inclusive, non-discriminatory practices.
- Ability to work on-site in field environments, with adaptability to evolving security and operational conditions.
- Relevant experience in emergency response, disaster risk reduction, community development, or public health is highly beneficial.
- Post-secondary education in a related field such as international relations, social sciences, public administration, development studies, or a comparable discipline is an advantage.
