Purpose:

  • Responsible for influencing business planning and overall commercial structures to minimize the burden of taxation on profits and cash flows.
  • Implements statutory tax requirements.
  • Prepares, analyzes and maintains tax reports and other related material. May be involved in tax planning.
  • Role operationalizes tax processes and provides analytical and project related support to the tax function inside the small geography supported.

Scope:

  • Individual contributor role, typically an entry role into the function.
  • Works as part of a team of functional colleagues and is accountable for monitoring and carrying out tax processes that support business units and/or regions operating in the relevant geography.
  • The job holder works in close collaboration with other tax colleagues, business units and other corporate functions.

General:

  • Builds knowledge of the organization, processes and customers
  • Requires knowledge and experience in own discipline; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills
  • Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction
  • Moderate decision-making authority guided by policies, procedures, and business operations protocol

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the tax computations and handle filing/payment of tax returns for the assigned Xerox entities.
  • Ensure prompt filing and payment of taxes handled for assigned Xerox entities
  • Provide the requirements of tax auditors and/or tax consultants for ongoing tax audit and other tax-related work.
  • Maintain accurate tax records and documentation for audits and compliance checks.
  • Prepare the balance sheet reconciliations and tax roll forward analysis for assigned tax accounts
  • Perform month-end close activities for assigned tax accounts
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and assess their impact on the company.
  • Support internal teams on tax-related matters for contracts, transactions, and projects.
  • Assist Tax Manager on special projects as assigned
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Job Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess at least bachelor's degree in finance/accountancy or equivalent.
  • CPA license preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge and experience in taxation is required
  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to deliver according to established/committed deadlines
  • Exposed to conducting financial reviews and dealing with people across all levels of the organization
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and research skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Willing to work in Cebu City
  • Can start immediately
