As an Electrical Site Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring assigned project areas and makes sure that all activities are being carried out within agreed cost and timeline, and governed by applicable specifications and codes. Also ensures effective communication and coordination with the EPC site engineers and other project participants, and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with the Project Development and Execution team to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Oversees field activities and provide daily updates to Project Management Team on EPC work on progress.
- Reviews and monitors planned schedule against actual work progress. In coordination with the site supervisor, develops action plan with contractor's management team to address slippage in schedule and report/update status to Project Management Team.
- Coordinates with the QA/QC Engineer and the contractor and authorities as required by the contract.
- Follows procedures and guidelines to provide the best quality assurance/ quality control to project with respect to specification of contract and proper documentation requirements.
- Reviews all aspects of quality control with the design engineers and ensures projects are set up for success to meet quality in line with scope.
- Coordinates with the Project Construction Supervisor for matters concerning civill and mechanical designs.
- Inspects materials and equipment delivered at site prior to incorporation of the same to the permanent project components.
- Establishes and monitors quality control program for civil works suitable for the project.
- Coordinates with the QA/QC engineer and EPC contractor representative and Site-in-charge for inspection and meeting about quality problems including the closure on Non-compliance report.
- Responsible for the closure of Non-conformance, NCR and Site Observation (SO).
- Checks suitability of supplied materials and prefabricated materials in conformity with the submitted mill certificates and specific tests conducted on the materials.
- Monitors all field tests for compliance with the technical specifications.
- Checks completed portions of the project by taking into account defects arising from mechanical fabrication/ installation works.
- Keeps an update of the Contractor's compliance for repairs within the stipulated defects liability period.
- Verifies that any non-conforming and/or suspected non-conforming work and related resolutions of non-conforming work are documented.
- Ensures method statements attached with shop drawings are submitted by the Contractor on time and approved.
- Monitors and maintains all records and files of all Contract documents, correspondence or modifications if any to justify of the same.
- Checks any variation orders and extra works that are deemed necessary during the progress of the project activities.
- Submits weekly and monthly project status reports and change orders deemed necessary for the completion of internal monthly progress report for management, office and file copy.
- Ensures that supporting documents are furnished for verification.
- Ensures that adequate site documentation of work progress/completion/changes and maintain it at the appropriate levels and deal with relevant correspondence with the involved parties.
- Inspects works related to Preliminary Acceptance, Schedule of Outstanding works and exclusion of item.
- Assists in preparing Final Acceptance after the defects liability or maintenance period.
- Conducts inspections regarding final clean-up prior to turnover of the project.
- Ensures that work under their control is carried out safely and without risks to health.
- Comply with requirements outlined in environmental management plan.
- Report to Project on Contractor's performances and project issues and generate as required.
What You Will Need:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- At least 5 years experience in electrical engineering & construction; with at least 3 years Construction Project Experience.
- Must be a Registered Electrical Engineer
Technical / Functional Skills:
- Proficiency in Computer skills, Project management and Control, and Contract Management.
- Strong Skills in Communication, Negotiation and Interpersonal.
