Role Description This full-time remote Electrical Estimator role is responsible for preparing accurate estimates for residential, commercial, and maintenance electrical projects. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing plans and specifications, quantifying materials and labor, and developing cost proposals in collaboration with project managers and electrical contractors. The role involves analyzing supplier and subcontractor quotes, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of electrical standards and industry pricing. The Electrical Estimator will also assist with bid submissions, support contract negotiations, and update internal estimating databases and tools to improve forecasting and project profitability.
Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Electrical Estimating and Cost Control to prepare accurate and competitive project bids.
  • Candidates should possess experience in Electrical Contracting and practical knowledge of Electricity in residential and commercial environments.
  • Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Electrical Engineering principles relevant to installation, maintenance, and safety standards.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a diploma or degree in electrical engineering, building services, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and project management tools, along with strong numerical and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote work environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and local standards, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple estimates concurrently, meet deadlines, and contribute to continuous improvement in estimating processes.
