About The Role
We are seeking an experienced
Electrical Engineer with a strong background in design and design review for solar projects. The ideal candidate will ensure that all electrical aspects of solar power systems meet industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role is critical in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of solar farm electrical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Design Review & Validation
- Conduct comprehensive design reviews of electrical systems for solar projects, including PV arrays, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and balance-of-system components.
- Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, international standards, and project-specific requirements.
- Identify design risks, constructability issues, and opportunities for optimization, recommending practical and cost-effective solutions.
Electrical Engineering & System Integration
- Provide technical input on DC and AC system design, cable sizing, grounding and earthing systems, and protection schemes.
- Review single-line diagrams (SLDs), layout drawings, and equipment specifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize electrical layouts for efficiency, safety, and maintainability.
Quality Assurance & Technical Compliance
- Validate electrical calculations, including load flow, short-circuit, voltage drop, and protection coordination studies.
- Review equipment datasheets and ensure alignment with project requirements and applicable standards.
- Support factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) as required.
Coordination & Documentation
- Work closely with project managers, civil engineers, and EPC contractors to ensure electrical designs are fully coordinated with overall project objectives.
- Prepare and maintain detailed design review reports, compliance matrices, and technical recommendations.
- Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases as needed.
