Overview
In response to the growing demand in the UK water sector we are expanding our talent search in the Philippines for Electrical Engineers with experience in water and wastewater infrastructure.
In this role, you will play a key part in shaping electrical and control system designs that support the delivery of innovative water and wastewater projects across the UK. As part of a multidisciplinary MEICA team, you will collaborate closely with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, contractors, and supply chain partners to deliver projects that positively impact communities and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop electrical and control system designs from feasibility through to detailed design and construction for water and wastewater projects, including:
- Treatment plants
- Pumping stations
- Chemical dosing systems
- Pumped-storage systems
- Produce high-quality technical deliverables, including:
- P&IDs
- Cable calculations
- Protection studies
- LV distribution designs
- Control panel layouts
- Electrical specifications
- Design and size key electrical systems and equipment, including:
- Switchgear and transformers
- Power distribution systems
- PLC and SCADA control systems
- Carry out detailed electrical engineering calculations using industry-standard tools, including:
- Cable sizing
- Fault level analysis
- Protection coordination
- Earthing and grounding studies
- In accordance with BS 7671, UK standards, and client requirements
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams including Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Geotechnical, and Process Engineers to deliver:
- Technically robust
- Cost-effective
- Programme- and quality-compliant solutions
- Participate in project and design meetings alongside senior engineers, contributing to technical discussions and gaining exposure to client and stakeholder engagement.
- Support the development of innovative, sustainable, and low-carbon engineering solutions.
- Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, relevant UK standards, and client specifications (e.g. WIMES where applicable).
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and promote safe-by-design principles across all electrical designs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Licensed Electrical Engineer (preferred but not required)
- 2–5+ years of relevant experience in water/wastewater, infrastructure, or industrial projects
- Experience within a MEICA or multidisciplinary engineering environment
- Experience with consultant or contractor organizations is an advantage
- Exposure to UK or international electrical standards is a plus
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles applied to water infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of power distribution, control systems, and industrial automation
- Familiarity with:
- LV electrical systems
- PLC and SCADA integration
- Electrical design tools (AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, or equivalent)
- Understanding of Health & Safety legislation (especially CDM)
- Knowledge of BS 7671 and familiarity with UK water industry standards (e.g. WIMES is an advantage)
- Strong written communication skills (technical reports, drawings, and design documentation)
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
- Proactive attitude with willingness to learn, develop, and take on new technical challenges
