Under the general direction provided by the General Engineering and Maintenance Manager, responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and improvement of electrical systems and equipment. This role ensures the reliable and efficient operation of electrical systems, supporting both the feedmill and piggery farm operations. The Electrical Engineer will collaborate with the operations and maintenance teams to enhance system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement preventive maintenance strategies.
- Design and develop electrical systems and components for the feedmill and piggery farm, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Prepare detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and documentation for new installations and modifications.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems, ensuring proper integration and functionality.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure timely and accurate completion of electrical projects.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure the longevity of electrical equipment.
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electrical systems, including motors, control panels, lighting, and power distribution systems.
- Diagnose and repair faults in motors, drives, control panels, PLCs, and power supply systems.
- Maintain backup systems and ensure minimal downtime during equipment failures.
- Collaborate with process engineers to automate various stages of feed production.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues promptly to ensure continuous operation of the feedmill and piggery farm.
- Analyze equipment failures and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the electrical systems.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to optimize electrical performance and energy usage.
- Ensure all electrical systems and equipment comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Support energy audits and electrical safety inspections.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols to protect workers and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment specifications, and performance data.
- Document changes in the electrical system and keep an updated asset register.
- Prepare reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and project progress for management review.
- Work closely with the operations and maintenance teams to coordinate activities and ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
- Communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and vendors to facilitate project execution and problem resolution..
