About The Job Electrical Engineer
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:The Electrical Engineer is responsible to undertake and be responsible for the overall Electrical design deliverables, such as (calculations, drawings, requisitions, reports, for the assigned project/tasks, working closely with the Electrical design Coordinator.
The role is to ensure that the Electrical design deliverables meet the vessel specification and the appropriate Electrical standards such as DNV/BV electrical shipbuilding rules, IMO HSC Code, AS/NZS 3004.2:2014 or the AS/NZS 3000.2018 and other country specific standard requirements within schedule and budget.
This role requires good coordination and communication (written and verbal) with the design team (AP and AA/AV where applicable), production and other external stakeholders (class/client/Supplier).
The Electrical Engineer will be required to undertake the electrical design deliverable without assistance from the Senior Electrical Engineers.
Essential
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- BEng Hons (Electrical Engineering)
- 2+ Years as a Junior Electrical engineer/electrical engineer undertaking electrical design and calculations
- Good Electrical design skills and Knowledge to meet vessel specification & rules requirements.
- Good technical skills and ability to problem solve
- Good knowledge of Australian Electrical Standards preferred.
- Strong Competence in 2D Autocad
- Good College results (TOR)
- Competent with MS Office, Word & Excel, outlook
- Good communication skills to coordinate with design, production and project teams in written and spoken English.
Desirable
- Good teamwork skills
- Worked within the shipbuilding industry as an Electrical trainee designer for 2 years or more
- Licensed Philippine Electrical Design Engineer
- Has had some on site Electrical installation experience
