ZigZag is looking for an Electrical Designer to join our team!
About the Role
For this position, you will be reporting to an Australian company that provides engineering services to major industrial and mining companies. The team is growing and requires an Electrical Designer to join this dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Design Tasks
- Design and develop Electrical and Control deliverables such as:
- Single-line diagram, Schematic diagram, Interconnection diagram.
- General arrangement drawings, Bill of materials, Construction specifications.
- Load list, Instrument list, I/O list, Cable schedule.
- Layout, Installation, Detail drawings, Hazardous area classification.
- Interpret and comply with drafting standards, document management systems, quality control procedures, client standards & specifications, local and international standards.
- Communicate with engineers in understanding job requirements and interpreting engineering notes.
- Provide service across a range of Power, Electrical, Instrumentation and Control disciplines so a broad engineering knowledge is an advantage.
- Utilize software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, RedEye, Trello.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree - Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation & Control Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5-7 years relevant experience in Mining/Water/Industrial/Oil & Gas industry.
- Experience in AutoCAD, Design & Drafting – required.
- Renewable Energy, Power Plants, and potentially Manufacturing backgroundmay be considered.
- Building, housing, and commercial construction backgrounds are generallynot preferred.
- Experience in Power System Analysis – nice-to-have.
- Experience in PLC/HMI/SCADA programming – nice-to-have.
- Experience in Hazardous area classification – nice-to-have
- Experience in Commissioning, FAT – nice-to-have.
- Professional license – nice-to-have.
Personal Skills
- Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Acute attention to detail and appreciation for quality in design documentation.
- Excellent computer skills.
