Principal Accountability/ Key Result Areas

Supporting Actions(Max1325 charactersfor each KRA)

  1. End-to-End System Design & Engineering Review
  • Lead the design and engineering review for EHV Transmission Lines (up to 400kV), 33kV Wind & Solar EBOP, and Substations.
  • Validate SLDs, layout drawings, earthing, lightning protection, and auxiliary systems.
  • Ensure designs are robust, optimized, and aligned with technical specifications.

Note: Completed basic & detailed engineering of approx.- 1.5GW capacity projects.

  1. Electrical System Calculations & Optimization
  • Perform and validate system studies: Short Circuit, SCF (Short Circuit Force), Sag-Tension, Ampacity, and Loss Calculations.
  • Review cable sizing, transformer sizing, battery & UPS sizing, and system protections.
  • Optimize designs to improve system efficiency, reduce losses, and lower project costs.

Note: Completed basic & detailed engineering of approx.- 1.5GW capacity projects.

  1. Transmission Line Engineering
  • Finalize conductor selection, OPGW/ESW sizing, and insulator configuration as per site conditions.
  • Review survey reports, tower schedules, and resolve technical issues in line routing.
  • Ensure compliance with BIL, safety clearance norms, and grid connectivity standards.

Note: Completed basic & detailed engineering of approx.- 1.5GW capacity projects.

  1. Substation & Bay Extension Design
  • Review engineering for 400kV/220kV/132kV/33kV substations and bay extensions.
  • Validate design calculations for earthing, auxiliary power systems, cable routing, and lighting.
  • Approve GA drawings, BOM, and vendor GTPs to ensure design compatibility.

Note: Completed basic & detailed engineering of approx.- 1.5GW capacity projects.

  1. Technical Standards & Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure system designs comply with IS/IEC standards, CEA regulations, and Grid Code.
  • Implement best practices in design to meet safety, quality, and reliability standards.
  • Support documentation and submissions for regulatory approvals.

Note: Completed basic & detailed engineering of approx.- 1.5GW capacity projects.

  1. Risk Management in Design

  • Identify potential design-related risks early in the project cycle.
  • Propose technical solutions and design modifications to mitigate project risks.
  • Conduct design reviews to avoid costly rework during execution.

For EHV Transmission Line up to 400kV:

1. Conductor Selection & Ampacity Calculation Report

2. OPGW & Earth Wire Sizing Report

3. Line Loss & Efficiency Calculation Report

4. Insulator String Design & BIL Report

5. Tower Design & Load Data Report

For EHV Substation up to 400kV:

1. Single Line Diagram (SLD)

2. General Arrangement (GA) Drawings

3. Electrical System Calculations Report

4. Equipment GTPs and Datasheet Approvals

5. Statutory & Regulatory Approval Documents

For EHV Transmission Line:

1. Document detailing conductor type selection based on load capacity, current rating, and short circuit considerations.

2. Defines the specifications and sizing of Optical Ground Wire and Earth Wire for protection and communication.

3. Calculates line losses under various load conditions to ensure system efficiency and energy evacuation reliability.

4. Specifies insulator types and Basic Insulation Level (BIL) requirements to withstand lightning and switching surges.

5. Provides structural design details, wind load, weight load data, and tower type classification based on site conditions.

For EHV Substation:

1. Shows the electrical configuration of the substation, including bus arrangements, breakers, isolators, transformers, and feeder connections for system clarity.

2. Provides the physical layout of equipment like transformers, GIS/AIS bays, control rooms, and cable trenches, ensuring efficient space utilization and safety.

3. Includes earthing system design, lightning protection, battery & charger sizing, cable sizing, and short circuit force calculations to ensure technical robustness.

4. Vendor-submitted technical particulars for major equipment (transformers, breakers, CT/PTs) reviewed and approved for design and procurement assurance.

5. Contains CEIG, CEA, STU, CTU, and grid code compliance approvals required for substation design acceptance and energization.
