Job Description

The Project Support (Local Coordinator) for Education (Early Grades) is responsible for the direct coordination, logistical support, regular school visits and meticulous data management for the implementation of the Early Grades program in El Nido, Palawan. The role will support the Education team in efficiently and effectively implementing the Early Grades Program to improve instructional quality and increase learning outcomes. This is a crucial role in project implementation as the local coordinator should know the lay of the land best.

Coordination and Implementation

  • Coordinates in a timely manner with local partners to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the Early Grades Project in El Nido, Palawan.
  • Ensures proper coordination prior to activities being conducted to avoid delays and challenges.
  • Coordinates all logistical aspects of the Early Grades program in El Nido
  • Supports the preparation and dissemination of all materials and resources essential for the project.
  • Coordinates schedule for DepEd Office, LGUs, and school visits and ensures that the stakeholders concerned are present as needed in the activity.
  • Assists with the effective implementation of onsite coaching to support classroom application.
  • Co-facilitates during training and mentoring sessions in close alignment with the Project Lead and Education Manager.
  • Coordinates proactively with local suppliers for the logistical needs of all activities to be conducted on ground.
  • Works closely with the Project Team during implementation to ascertain all systems go.
  • Maintains a database of community contacts for ease in communication pre-, during and post-implementation.
  • Recommends solutions and next steps appropriate to the context of El Nido, Palawan to strengthen project implementation.
  • Assists in the future expansion plans of the project.

Stakeholder Management

  • Facilitates meetings with stakeholders to provide timely program updates in close alignment with the Early Grades Education Operations team.
  • Anticipates needs of stakeholders relevant to the project and actively communicates these to the Early Grades Education Operations team for further discussion.
  • Builds and maintains professional relationships with community partners and stakeholders to facilitate a healthy and progressive working relationship essential for the program to succeed.
  • Engage and rallies stakeholders to align with the goals of the program.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting

  • Coordinates and supports rigorous data collection for the Early Grades program in El Nido, Palawan, including tracking students learning progress, other impact measurements, and DepEd assessments.
  • Assists in the preparation of comprehensive reports and proposals by contributing relevant data, insights and lessons learned on ground.
  • Supports in creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation related to the Early Grades program including project activities, data, and digital resources.

Budget, Finance, and Compliance

  • Files expenses related to the Early Grades program in El Nido, Palawan, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to financial guidelines and procedures in a timely manner.
  • Assists with local budget preparation and financial documentation and provide accurate financial reports from the field as needed.
  • Assists in preparing budgets and financial documentation related to future expansion plans of the project.

Risk and Issue Management

  • Assists in promptly resolving any project-related issues that may arise during the implementation of the Early Grades program.
  • Proactively assists in identifying and mitigating potential risks and threats to the successful implementation of the project.

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Coordinates with cross-functional teams within the organization during the implementation of the Early Grades project to ensure overall smooth operations.
  • Collaborates with other relevant teams/stakeholders as needed for potential expansion plans of the project.

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least a Bachelor's degree in education, community development, social work, or another related fields
  • Preferably with one year of experience in project coordination or support in a related field.
  • Background in education, community work, or another similar field is an advantage.
  • Teaching experience/ experience working in or with the Department of Education is an advantage.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive in addressing challenges, and committed to achieving program objectives.
  • Must be based in El Nido, Palawan
  • Must be physically fit and willing to travel for field work
