Job Description

Job Summary:

The Economist/ Public Financial Specialist will be part of the R.G. Manabat & Co.s (KPMG in the Philippines) Business Development team dedicated to delivering revenue targets for local and multilateral development agencies. He/she is also expected to participate in project implementation as subject matter expert, conduct bid reviews and provide technical expertise input in proposals.

Technical Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain client relationships and play a key role in business development. Support partners and directors in business development especially on opportunities in his/her line of expertise.
  2. Serve as capture manager for specific business opportunities in the financial sector
  3. Work with the business development team to develop leads and opportunities, team strategies and negotiations, proposal planning, and price-to-win assessments.
  4. Collaborate in sourcing key personnel or contingent hires in conjunction with proposal efforts, as needed.
  5. Support proposal preparation and business development activities by assisting in the identification of new target clients, building business relationships with key executives, and developing/presenting proposals.
  6. Serve as key subject matter expert on economics and finance for projects that are implemented by KPMG in the Philippines or for opportunities that require his/her expertise.
  7. Build strong internal relationships within KPMG in the Philippines and across the KPMG Network and other services.
  8. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial markets and economic/ financial policies.
  9. Contribute to client knowledge base and internal practice development initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in economics, business, finance, or other relevant subjects, preferably with master's degree or equivalent relevant training.
  2. At least 7 years of general experience in advisory for infrastructure projects and specifically in the energy, transportation or industrial sectors.
  3. Experience in working for projects supported by multilateral development organizations.
  4. Proficient in written and spoken English.
  5. At least 5 years of relevant experience in the following:
  • Economic analysis such as economic impacts and cost-benefit (CBA)
  • Knowledge of economic modelling and analysis tools
  • Financial & commercial due diligence and valuation
