Role Overview
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented E-Commerce Data & Product Information Specialist to support a fast-growing lighting manufacturer serving the North American market (Canada & USA). This role focuses on managing, cleaning, and translating large volumes of product data across multiple e-commerce partners and internal systems.
The ideal candidate is exceptionally strong in Excel, comfortable handling large SKU volumes, and experienced working with structured product data for online marketplaces. This role will also support SEO-optimized product copywriting as a secondary responsibility. This position will start full-time during peak product launch periods, with hours flexing down to part-time during slower cycles. Candidates must be comfortable with fluctuating workloads tied to seasonal launches.
Core Responsibilities
Product Data Management & Preparation (Primary)
Collect and consolidate product data from multiple internal sources (engineering, pricing, purchasing, marketing)
Clean, validate, and standardize data for accuracy and consistency
Prepare master product data files for new product launches
Maintain high levels of accuracy across thousands of SKUs with technical attributes (dimensions, lumen output, specifications, etc.)
Ensure data integrity for designer- and customer-facing platforms
E-Commerce Data Translation & Partner Uploads
Translate master product data into platform-specific templates for e-commerce partners (e.g., Wayfair, Home Depot, Ferguson, Amazon)
Adjust columns, attributes, and formatting based on each partner's unique requirements
Support onboarding of new e-commerce vendors by preparing compliant data files
Assist with ongoing updates and corrections to existing partner listings
PIM System Support
Work within the company's Product Information Management (PIM) system (Catsy)
Support the maintenance and organization of high-level product data
Collaborate with senior data stakeholders to ensure accurate data flow from PIM to external platforms
SEO Product Copywriting (Nice to Have)
Draft SEO-optimized product titles, descriptions, and key feature bullet points
Optimize copy for marketplaces such as Amazon, Wayfair, and other e-commerce platforms
Collaborate with internal teams to align copy with brand guidelines and technical accuracy
Working Hours & Flexibility
Start: Full-Time (40 hrs/week) during peak launch periods
Flex down to Part-Time (1020 hrs/week) during slower months
Peak periods typically occur: Mid-November to February
Early May to early July
Candidates must be comfortable with seasonal workload fluctuations
Required Skills & Experience Must-Haves
Advanced Excel proficiency (handling large, complex datasets)
Strong background in data entry, data cleanup, and data validation
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Experience working with large SKU catalogs (thousands of products)
Comfortable handling technical product specifications
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Nice-to-Haves
Experience working with e-commerce marketplaces (Wayfair, Home Depot, Amazon, etc.)
Familiarity with PIM systems (Catsy experience is a plus)
SEO copywriting experience for product listings
Prior experience supporting product launches or merchandising teams
