About the Role
The Ecommerce Catalog & Channel Performance Manager will own catalog health, channel performance, and profitability oversight across Shopify and Walmart Seller Central. This is a strategic oversight role you will guide listings, advertising, inventory, and financial performance while coordinating closely with internal teams and external agencies. This is not an execution-only role; you will ensure that strategy is followed, metrics are met, and partners are held accountable.
Responsibilities
Catalog Management
- Oversee product listings on Shopify and Walmart Seller Central.
- Ensure titles, attributes, images, variations, and compliance requirements are accurate and optimized.
- Audit listing quality, suppression issues, and content gaps.
- Coordinate with internal staff and external agencies on updates, launches, and optimizations.
Channel Expertise
- Monitor ranking, conversion, pricing, fulfillment models, and fee structures across both platforms.
- Track Buy Box, content score, listing quality, and policy compliance on Walmart.
- Manage collections, navigation, bundles, and merchandising on Shopify.
Performance & Metrics Monitoring
- Track traffic, conversion rate, AOV, ROAS, TACOS, margin, and contribution profit.
- Build dashboards pulling data from Shopify, Walmart, advertising platforms, and internal reports.
- Identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
- Hold agencies accountable for performance against KPIs.
Inventory & Forecasting
- Monitor inventory levels, sell-through, and aging stock.
- Coordinate replenishment planning to prevent stockouts and overstock.
- Forecast demand based on seasonality, promotions, and historical data.
Profitability Oversight
- Analyze landed cost, platform fees, ad spend, discounts, and chargebacks.
- Monitor SKU-level contribution margin and flag margin erosion.
- Recommend pricing or promotional adjustments as needed.
Competencies and Qualifications
Must-Have
- 35 years experience managing Shopify and/or Walmart Seller Central.
- Strong Shopify catalog management expertise.
- Deep familiarity with Walmart Seller Central operations and Buy Box dynamics.
- Experience tracking performance metrics and ecommerce KPIs.
- Ability to build dashboards and analyze large datasets.
- Strong understanding of ecommerce unit economics.
- Experience working with and managing external agencies or vendors.
- Proven ability to drive accountability and performance outcomes.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with Shopify merchandising, bundles, and site navigation optimization.
- Contribution margin and SKU-level profitability analysis experience.
- Inventory planning and demand forecasting experience.
- Familiarity with BI or reporting tools.
- Degree in Business, Marketing, Analytics, or related field.
- Strong understanding of US consumer behavior and market dynamics.
