Duty Engineer

The Duty Engineer is a full-time, on-site position based at Seda Residences Makati. This role is responsible for monitoring and maintaining hotel engineering systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment, to ensure safe and efficient operations. Day-to-day tasks include conducting routine inspections, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and coordinating with external contractors when needed. The Duty Engineer works closely with the engineering and operations teams to respond to guest and staff maintenance requests, support energy conservation initiatives, and ensure compliance with safety and building standards. The role also involves preparing basic reports, maintaining accurate maintenance records, and assisting in emergency responses related to technical and facility concerns.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of building systems such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC, including hands-on experience in preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, and basic schematics, and apply problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve engineering issues.
• Understanding of safety protocols, building codes, and emergency procedures, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for guests and team members.
• Effective communication and coordination skills for working with cross-functional hotel teams and external service providers, including clear documentation of maintenance activities.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and prior experience in hotel, residential, or commercial property engineering operations.
• Willingness to work on-site shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed, and the ability to respond quickly to urgent maintenance concerns.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications for logging work orders, maintenance records, and reports; familiarity with building management systems is an advantage.
