The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the drilling program by planning and implementing well programs safely and efficiently.
The Role
- Demonstrates Drilling Engineering competencies through planning and executing well construction in both in-field and exploration drilling areas. Well construction entails well design in general and in particular; casing design, wellhead design, cement, drilling fluids, directional drilling, aerated mud system, etc.
- Plans and implements well services projects (i.e., Wellhead Maintenance, Valve Change-outs, and Wellhead Repairs, Caliper Logs, Camera Runs, and other downhole evaluation tools)
- Reviews and evaluates wells for workover; prepares workover programs
- Plans, implements, and monitors drilling projects to support the drilling program working closely with Well Decision Teams
- Supports Drilling Representatives on technical projects
The Individual
- Registered Engineer, preferably Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Petroleum or Civil
- Minimum one-year drilling experience in geothermal or oil and gas with working knowledge in drilling engineering fundamentals, principles, well control theory, and practices
- With working experience in equipment and materials procurement and contract management
- Strong background in Health, Environment, and Safety (HES) practices and procedures
- Good communication, presentation, and project management skills
- Proficient in MS Office Applications
- Willing to do field work
