What will you do

At Aurecon, we bring ideas to life to imagine and co-create with our clients a better future for people and the planet. As part of our Transport - Roads team, this role will contribute to delivering innovative and sustainable road and transport design solutions across international projects.

As aRoads Drafter, you will bring to life the detailed design outputs that form the foundation of Aurecon's award-winning transport projects. You'll support engineers and designers in preparing accurate plans, sections, and construction documentation for road and civil infrastructure projects.

You'll be part of a collaborative and multidisciplinary team working on some of New Zealand's most significant transport infrastructure projects, reimagining how roads can shape a more sustainable and connected world.

Here are the key things you will need to have in order to bring ideas to life.

  • Prepare accurate 2D CAD drawings based on engineer mark‑ups, reference designs, and established standards provided by the onshore project team.

  • Revise and update drawings in line with comments, design changes, and document control requirements.

  • Ensure drawings comply with company, client, and international drafting standards, including layering, naming conventions, and file management.

  • Coordinate remotely with onshore engineers, senior drafters, and project leads to meet agreed deliverables and deadlines.

  • Support the delivery of simple to moderately complex drawing packages as part of a distributed, offshore project team.

What can you bring to the team

Firstly, you will share our genuine passion for re-imagining engineering and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future. You will also need the following:

  • 2-8 years experience in a CAD drafting role, preferably supporting civil, infrastructure, or Transport related.

  • Relevant technical qualification such as TESDA Technical Drafting NC II, Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, or equivalent (nice to have but not expected or necessary)

  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD with proven 2D drafting capability experience working from mark‑ups and redlines.

  • Familiarity with working in an offshore delivery model, including remote coordination and meeting time‑based deadlines.

  • Good communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions and quality standards set by onshore teams
