Job description:
Purpose of the Role:
- Drafting of shop drawings for review and approval by the client and their nominated representatives
- Generation of production drawings & download programs for joinery manufacture
Key Accountabilities:
Commercial
- Identify & report on any variation opportunities (off-site) to the Project Manager
- Ensure variations are approved by the Project Manager prior to proceeding with drawings
Project Start Up
- Set Up
- When required, attend Handover Meetings to understand the full project scope.
- Obtain the current project program, finishes schedule and all required documentation from the Project Manager
- Understand and monitor the Production Schedule (Progress Tracker) in consultation with the Drafting Manager & Project Manager
- Strategy / Planning
- Attend the Method of Construction (MoC) workshop, understanding outcomes for inclusion in drafting
- Assist in establishing drafting strategy in consultation with the Project Manager, Drafting Manager & Operations Manager
- Understand the key project risks identified by the Project Manager, assisting in their management and monitoring as it relates to drafting
- Assist in identifying premanufacture & standardisation opportunities with the Project Manager (push for this wherever possible to optimise manufacturing flexibility)
- Where required, attend prototype inspections and understand agreed outcomes to incorporate for the project delivery
Procurement
- Review Estimating handover documentation to assist in understanding the project
- Assist in monitoring lead times for all project materials with suppliers
Program & Progress
- Report to the Drafting Manager & Project Manager on any matters that are or may delay the efficient completion of shop drawings
- Understand and assist in maintaining drafting program/schedule
- Drafter should coordinate and request site measurements via the PM
Project Administration
- Assist Project Manager in preparation of RFI's and general correspondence
Documentation
- Client Documents
- Obtain current documentation as issued by client from Project Manager
- Report any observed variation entitlements & opportunities as a result of drawing revisions by the Client
- Shop Drawings
- Operate in accordance with the determined drafting strategy
- Prepare shop drawings as required by the production schedule & Progress Tracker
- Prepare for submission, detailed shop drawings with a current status shop drawing register when ready for review
- Raise for review any manufacturing issues for assessment and direction by the allocated Project Manager and Drafting Manager
- Always maintain a current Shop Drawing register
- If client approvals are at risk of delaying our progress in any way, advise the Project Manager & Drafting Manager immediately
- Follow standardised drafting procedures
- Downloading Production Drawings
- Manage downloads as required to maintain the Production Schedule & Progress Tracker
- Assist in addressing any issues raised regarding manufacture; assembly; transport and site process that can be improved for the remainder of the project
Manufacturing
- Consult with Operations Manager & Drafting Manager on a regular basis about production needs
- Attend factory as required to assist factory team undertake their processes efficiently
Quality Control & Defect Management
- Process red sheet requests from site as required for defect rectification on site as requested by the Project Manager
- Aged red sheets in system to be escalated to Factory Manager for close out
WSH&E
- Comply with all company safety & environmental policies, standards, and practices
General
- Understand and operate within the Limits of Authority (LoA) document
- Comply with the standardization of documentation and processes for the business

Qualifications/Experience:
- Preferred 5 years experience in the use of Cabinet Vision
- Have trade experience in Cabinet Making
- On site installation experience preferred, but not essential
