The Drafter I is responsible for preparing zoning and construction drawings in AutoCAD as quickly and accurately as possible with supervision. The ideal candidate will prepare/set up an initial scope of drawings; communicate with the Project Lead and Project Managers and perform other duties that may be assigned.
What You Will Do
- Prepare zoning and construction drawings in AutoCAD as quickly and accurately as possible with supervision.
- Prepare/set up initial scope in drawings.
- Data gathering and input.
- Use different programs required per scope at a basic level after training (excluding AutoCAD).
- Communicate with the Project Lead and Project Managers. (ex. Deadline, questions etc.)
- Perform office duties such as printing, stapling, rolling plans, plotter roll changing, etc.
- Process redlined sets and plan check comments with help / supervision.
- Translate field notes /sketches based on site walks to CAD.
- Quality Control check of other drafters.
- Other duties may be assigned.
What You Will Need
- Good work ethic, time management, excellent organizational skills, and overall reliability.
- Required: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic knowledge of plans, elevations, and details.
- Good knowledge of computer basics.
- Basic level proficiency in using AutoCAD, Office 2016 (Outlook, Excel, Work, etc.) and Adobe PDF
- Right attitude with adherence to company's core values (relationships, innovation, responsibility, communication).
- Preferred: At least one-year of telecommunications experience of training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
