About The Role

This position supports the Department of Professional Practice's role in providing timely advisory to firm personnel on matters related to standards on audit, assurance, and other related services and related developments, training, consultation, and financial statements quality control review.

Key Responsibilities:

Advisory

  • Monitor developments on subject matters related to the practice of audit, assurance, and other related services, including global KPMG methodologies.
  • Draft memos, alerts, and and reminders for dissemination of relevant developments, guidance, templates, tools, and Firm positions on audit, assurance, and other related services to the Firm's professionals.

Consultation

  • Respond to technical queries primarily on requirements of audit, assurance, and related services.

Financial Statements Quality Control Review (FSQCR)

Facilitate screening and clearance of financial statements submitted for FSQCR which includes the following tasks:

  • Receive and check completeness of financial statements and accompanying documents submitted for FSQCR or clearance.
  • Check for applicable criteria to determine whether financial statements are subject to FSQCR.
  • Operate the financial statement monitoring system.
  • Perform referencing procedures as part of FSQCR.
  • Keep record of financial statements in the clearance process.
  • Coordinate with engagement teams any concerns on their submissions.

Training

  • Assist in the facilitation of trainings on subject matters related to audit, assurance and related services including relevant standards and KPMG practice guidance materials.
  • Perform activities under supervision of immediate superiors to support local development or localization of training materials on audit, assurance and related services

Qualifications

Education and Licenses

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Related Experience

  • Any combination of work experience (0 to 1 year) in auditing, technical advisory (e.g. accounting, audit support), and research and other support services

Competencies

  • Knowledge of ISA/PSA
  • Knowledge of IFRS/PFRS
  • Personal effectiveness - ability to work effectively within teams and independently; and commitment to high performance and continuous improvement
  • The right mindset - attention to detail, strategic, ambitious, and enthusiastic
