About The Role

We're looking for a senior finance leader who can be a strong business partner, not just a numbers expert.

As our Divisional Finance Director, you will work closely with business leaders to help the division grow, improve performance, and make sound financial decisions. You will be the trusted finance partner of the leadership team, someone who can turn financial data into clear insights, guide decisions, manage risks, and support the business in reaching its goals.

This role is ideal for someone who is commercially minded, people-oriented, and confident working across different teams. You should be comfortable challenging ideas when needed, but in a constructive and respectful way. Just as important, you should know how to build trust, work collaboratively, and help leaders understand the story behind the numbers.

If you enjoy being close to the business, influencing decisions, and leading a team that adds real value, this could be a great next step for you.

Lead planning, budgeting, and forecasting

  • Lead the annual planning and budgeting process for the division
  • Oversee regular forecasting and help leaders stay on track against targets
  • Compare actual performance against plans and explain key movements clearly
  • Support the business in making informed decisions based on realistic assumptions
  • Ensure balance sheet and cash flow planning are also in place

Oversee reporting and financial controls

  • Make sure reports are accurate, complete, and submitted on time
  • Maintain strong financial governance across the division
  • Help ensure compliance with company policies, controls, and accounting requirements
  • Support internal and external audit requirements

Support clients, contracts, and business growth

  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support new business opportunities by providing financial guidance during bid and transition stages
  • Help ensure contracts are financially well-managed and obligations are properly understood
  • Work with wider finance and support teams to respond to business and client requirements
  • Contribute to transformation and improvement initiatives across the division

Lead and develop the finance team

  • Lead, coach, and support the divisional finance team
  • Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Provide regular feedback and development support to team members
  • Help strengthen succession planning and build a strong talent pipeline
  • Encourage the team to be proactive, commercially aware, and close to the business
