Position Summary:
The Division Merchandise Manager is responsible for overseeing and driving the merchandising strategy and execution for a designated category or division. This role leads a team of buyers/planners and partners with cross-functional departments such as marketing, supply chain, e-commerce, and store operations to ensure category growth, profitability, and alignment with overall company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute merchandise strategies aligned with company goals to achieve sales, margin, and growth targets for assigned categories.
- Oversee assortment planning, buying, and inventory management, including product selection, seasonal buys, markdowns, and open-to-buy compliance to optimize stock productivity.
- Lead and develop category buyers, providing guidance on sourcing, negotiation, supplier management, and execution of purchase plans.
- Analyze sales, inventory, and market trends, conducting competitive analysis and market visits to identify opportunities, manage risks, and stay aligned with customer needs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally and report performance, working with marketing and operations on promotions and campaigns while ensuring compliance with company policies and presenting actionable insights to management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, Marketing, or related field
- With 5+ years of buying and merchandising experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in assortment planning, pricing, and inventory management.
