Position Summary:
The Distributed Control System (DCS) Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership and support for the Plant's Distributed Control System (DCS) and Instrumentation & Controls (I&C), ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient Plant operations.
The role provides expert technical support in the planning, execution, and management of all DCS and control systemrelated engineering activities for the Power Plant. The DCS Engineer works closely with the Operations and Maintenance personnel to optimize the use, performance, reliability, and availability of the DCS, PLCs, local control panels, and associated I&C components.
Primary responsibilities include system configuration and modification, execution of functional tests, analysis and troubleshooting of DCS and PLC systems, verification of analog and digital interlocks and protective functions, and fine-tuning of control loops to meet operational, safety, and performance requirements.
As a secondary function, the DCS Engineer provides technical support to the Plant's Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity program. This includes supporting the Plant's OT Network Cybersecurity System, coordinating with the AP Cybersecurity Team and technical experts on cybersecurity enhancements, and contributing to the development and execution of cybersecurity incident response and recovery plans. The Engineer supports incident investigation and root cause analysis related to control system and OT cybersecurity events and provides recommendations to mitigate or prevent recurrence.
