Director Securities Operations

About the Role

This is a opportunity to build and scale AssetMark's securities operations function in India. As Director, Securities Operations, you'll establish and lead a best-in-class securities operations platform at our Hyderabad Technology Center, supporting financial advisors and their clients across the end-to-end securities lifecycle. You'll shape the operating model, hire the leadership team and define how these functions run for years to come.

You'll oversee trade processing, reconciliation, transaction and tax lot accounting, corporate actions, asset servicing, custody, middle office and investment performance. Working closely with U.S. leadership, you'll transition and grow critical operations, put robust controls in place, drive rapid detection and resolution of outages, and deliver exceptional service at scale. The work you lead will support a platform serving 10,000+ financial advisors and $180B+ in platform assets.

What You'll Do

- Build and lead the Hyderabad securities operations function: define the operating model, hire the leadership team, plan the workforce and transition processes from the U.S., while developing managers and succession plans.

- Oversee the end-to-end trade lifecycle (model rebalancing, trade processing, settlement, breaks and fails) across equities, fixed income, mutual funds, options and derivatives.

- Oversee transaction and tax lot accounting, custody and asset servicing (corporate actions, income, cash movement, transfers), reconciliation, security master, pricing, fee and billing, and investment performance reporting.

- Set and report KPIs (SLA, accuracy, cost per transaction, cycle time, resolution speed) to U.S. leadership, and drive continuous improvement and rapid outage detection and resolution.

- Maintain a strong control environment: ensure regulatory compliance, audit readiness and root cause remediation of incidents, partnering with Risk, Compliance and Audit.

- Lead automation, AI and platform consolidation initiatives with Product, Technology, Client Service and Finance, and manage budgets and cost per account targets.

What You Bring

- 10-15+ years in financial services or investment operations, with 5-8+ years leading multi-function, large-scale teams.

- Track record of building, scaling or transitioning U.S.-facing operations teams from India, ideally in a GCC or captive environment.

- Deep knowledge of the U.S. securities lifecycle: trade processing, T+1 settlement, transaction and tax lot accounting, reconciliation, custody, corporate actions and asset servicing.

- Experience in wealth management or RIA platforms, and with trading, custody and back-office systems such as Broadridge, Vestmark, Aladdin, SimCorp, Eagle, Advent or FactSet.

- Expertise in operational controls, risk management and regulatory compliance, with a data-driven approach and experience reducing cost per account.

- Executive communication and stakeholder skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and lead platform transformation, automation or AI initiatives.

Nice to Have

• Experience with TAMPs, model portfolios, separately managed accounts (SMAs) or multi-strategist offerings.
• Exposure to investment performance measurement, GIPS and attribution.
• Lean Six Sigma, process excellence or transformation leadership experience.
• CFA, CIPM or FRM certification.
• MBA or advanced degree.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics or a related field (required).
• MBA or advanced degree (preferred).
