Job Description

Job Description:

  • Lead and oversee global employment operations across APAC, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational quality and a high level of client service.
  • Provide senior guidance on employment, payroll, labor relations and employee lifecycle matters across multiple regions.
  • Interpret and apply local employment and payroll regulations, translating complex legal and regulatory requirements into practical business solutions.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex client, employee, payroll, compliance and employment matters.
  • Manage relationships with international clients across multiple regions
  • Handle sensitive and high-impact situations, including employment disputes, regulatory issues, terminations, employee escalations and other crisis situations.
  • Partner closely with Legal, HR, Finance, Client Services and other functions across a global matrix organization.
  • Support complex client onboarding and provide senior-level input on employment structures, contractual matters and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive consistency, risk management and continuous improvement across regional global employment operations.
  • Represent the Asia region in global initiatives, strategic projects and senior stakeholder discussions.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across multiple countries and cultures.
  • Travel to Malaysia, Australia and other locations across the region as required.
  • Work across US business hours when required to support global clients and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge and practical understanding of employment, payroll regulations and labour relationsacross experience managing international clients across multiple regions.
  • Significant experience in an global employment, payroll, employment law or international HR environment.
  • Proven experience managing international clients, particularly clients based in multiple regions
  • Strong understanding of employment law and the ability to provide practical guidance on complex employment-related matters.
  • Demonstrated experience managing sensitive escalations and complex or high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior clients and global leadership.
  • Experience working in a matrix management environment across multiple countries and functions.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly across Asia-Pacific, including Malaysia and Australia.
  • Flexibility to work US business hours when required.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance legal and regulatory requirements with client and business needs.
