Job Description
As a member of the Public Affairs team in the Philippines, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the company's relationships with government authorities, regulatory agencies, and key external stakeholders. You will play a critical role in strengthening the company's corporate reputation, supporting regulatory engagement, monitoring policy developments, and fostering a favourable external environment to support the company's business expansion in the Philippines.
Key Responsibilities
1Develop and maintain strong relationships with Philippine government agencies, regulatory authorities, industry associations, and other key stakeholders.
2Liaise with relevant regulatory authorities, including the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the National Privacy Commission (NPC), and other government agencies as required.
3Monitor, analyse, and interpret government policies, regulatory developments, and industry trends related to fintech, digital finance, consumer finance, payments, and emerging technologies, providing timely insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
4Develop a thorough understanding of the company's business and support regulatory compliance, licensing, and communication with relevant government authorities.
5Support the company's policy advocacy and regulatory engagement initiatives to facilitate sustainable business growth in the Philippines.
6Coordinate public affairs initiatives, government engagement activities, and external communications to strengthen the company's reputation and stakeholder relationships.
7Represent the company at meetings with government agencies, industry associations, conferences, forums, and other external events.
8Handle regulatory issues, crisis communications, emergency response, and other ad-hoc public affairs matters when required.
Qualifications
1Bachelor's degree or above.
2Working proficiency in English; Filipino/Tagalog is preferred. Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
3Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
4Excellent coordination and project management abilities, with the capability to analyse complex policy and regulatory issues and provide practical recommendations.
5Resilient under pressure, highly adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
6Familiarity with the Philippine government structure and regulatory landscape. Previous experience in government affairs, public affairs, regulatory affairs, or government agencies is preferred.
7Experience in the fintech, financial services, banking, digital payments, consumer finance, or technology industry is highly preferred.
8An established network within Philippine government agencies, regulatory bodies, or industry associations is an advantage.
