Operations Director – Renewable Energy
Location: Manila, Philippines
A leading renewable energy platform is seeking an experienced Operations Director to oversee the operations and performance of a growing portfolio of renewable energy assets across the Philippines.
This is a senior leadership position responsible for ensuring operational excellence, asset reliability, HSE compliance, and overall plant performance while supporting the company's continued expansion in the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the operations and maintenance strategy for a portfolio of utility and commercial-scale renewable energy assets across multiple sites in the Philippines.
- Oversee day-to-day plant operations, ensuring maximum availability, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Drive operational improvements, asset optimisation, preventive maintenance programmes, and performance monitoring.
- Manage site leadership teams and work closely with engineering, maintenance, HSE, and project teams.
- Utilise SCADA and other monitoring systems to analyse plant performance, troubleshoot operational issues, and improve asset reliability.
- Develop and monitor operational KPIs, budgets, maintenance plans, and reporting for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with all local regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements.
- Support the operational handover of new renewable energy projects into commercial operation.
- Travel regularly to project sites across Philippines to oversee operations and engage with site teams and key stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Approximately 10–20 years of experience within the power or renewable energy sector.
- Proven experience managing the operations of multiple renewable energy assets, preferably solar power plants.
- Strong understanding of plant operations, maintenance planning, asset management, and operational performance optimisation.
- Hands-on experience using SCADA systems for plant monitoring and performance management.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary operations teams across multiple locations.
- Strong knowledge of HSE standards, regulatory compliance, and operational best practices.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently across project sites within the Philippines.
Preferred Experience
- Experience overseeing renewable energy assets.
- Exposure to utility-scale solar projects is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership capabilities.
