Primary Objective Of The Position

The Director of Engineering oversees the maintenance and operation of all hotel facilities, ensuring building systems, guest rooms, and public areas are safe and fully functional. This role manages preventive maintenance programs, department budgets, capital projects, and regulatory compliance. The Director leads and develops the engineering team, coordinates with other departments to support guest satisfaction, and responds to operational and emergency maintenance needs.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Checks the construction, renovation, improvement projects which are carried out in the hotel are according to plan or standards.
• Does facility walkthrough, all facility related concerns and implements recommendations and/or rectifications on noted concerns.
• Oversee maintenance of all hotel systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, life safety, and building automation systems
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations
• Develop and manage the engineering department budget
• Control maintenance and utility costs while maintaining quality standards
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred
• Registered Mechanical or Electrical Engineer
• Minimum of 5 years of engineering or facilities experience in a hotel or hospitality environment
• Previous supervisory or management experience required
• Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical)
• Experience with preventive maintenance systems (CMMS)
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manual
