Director, Manufacturing
This job ensures effective and efficient management of the entire manufacturing operations to meet the requirements for product volume, quality, timeliness and safety. This job also ensures the achievement of the unit's financial targets.
Operations Planning & Production Management
- Integrate various activities in production to ensure the smooth flow of production operations.
- Monitors the quality, consumption of production materials and other operations requirements in all areas of Manufacturing
- Ensures that standard yields/material balance is consistently achieved.
- Assures product and material traceability.
- Monitors efficient use of man-hours based on established work standards.
- Collaborate with PPIC to ensure that STO's are met on time and in full.
- Ensures that other KPIs related to manufacturing are met.
- Assist the Commissary Head in formulating strategies to ensure capability of the commissaries to deliver on their targets.
- Collaborate with other departments on the implementation and improvement pertaining to Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) to ensure that production targets are met
- Monitors and reports performance of Department against their operational and financial targets
- Recommends/undertakes/implements CAPEX projects especially those that will impact productivity, expand capacity as well as develop new capabilities.
- Recommend action plan to achieve IRA targets
- Spearhead the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) within the Department
Integrated Management System
- Enforces implementation of IMS across all production areas.
- Works closely with CSC TS group and ensures that all production lines contribute to the attainment of quality and safety standards for products and the workplace by conforming to the standards of sanitation, proper hygiene and safety.
- Ensures compliance with documentation requirements related to production.
- Champions HACCP/FSSC and other assessment/ certification of the entire production line.
Drives Lean Manufacturing initiatives and process improvements, equipment upgrade and other opportunities for innovation.
- Ensures that all production equipment, utilities/ facilities are properly maintained for maximum utilization.
- Champions/manages all production-related projects including those related to new product introductions, equipment installations and other initiatives related to process improvements.
- Continuously seek improvement in all aspects of production to reduce costs and improve product quality.
Organization & Talent Development
- Provides coaching/guidance to the direct reports related to organization, talent development and managing third party service providers.
- Review and recommend changes in the organizational structure to ensure aligned and seamless operations are needed to deliver the desired operational and financial results.
- Recommends individual development plans for direct reports.
- Monitors and evaluates performance of direct reports.
- Provides opportunities for training and upgrading of competencies of direct reports.
- Provide valuable inputs to the Company on people development and programs.
Inventory control and systems compliance
- Ensures compliance with inventory control policy as defined by Corp Inventory Control Group (ICG).
- Ensures accurate, timely and strict compliance to the (SAP) requirement of production systems.
- Ensures KPI's related to SAP are met consistently.
Quality and timeliness of delivery
- Implements and monitor capacity expansion projects aligned with pursuing manufacturing centers of excellence
- Coordinates with other operating units for and on behalf of Manufacturing
- Participates in cross-functional teams/projects within CSC where his/her expertise is relevant.
- Perform other job or expertise related assignments in order to develop oneself and/or share one's expertise resulting to support for operational efficiency.
Compliance
- Abides Company Policies, Rules and Regulations on Discipline, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety, Quality Schemes, Safety and other related Company Policies being implemented.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in management, IE and other related courses, with exposure in food science and technology and operations management.
- Managerial experience in a food manufacturing plant for at least 5 years.
- Plant Operations management experience in food manufacturing has been for at least 3 years.
