REQ13819 Director, Engineering (Open)
Position Summary
The Director, Engineering, ensures the proper operations and management of all systems assigned to him/her with focus in support of all other operating departments, supplying services as required to the entire operations, and ensuring all maintenance are carried out accordingly so as to maintain the freshness and efficiency of all equipment, building, and grounds at their optimum conditions. Also, to ensure that life safety standards throughout the entire property are, always on their readiness and maintain highest standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare annual and revise (reforecast) all operating budgets in close coordination with all other operating departments and in close cooperation with Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer.
- Establish an efficient system for the control and verification of all fuel deliveries to the premises.
- Be fully responsible for the implementation of all company Life Safety procedures. Ensure that all life safety systems are always at their readiness with highest standards.
- Establish a regular planned maintenance program to all E&M systems, guestrooms servicing program and carry out inspection/supervise the maintenance of landscape/gardens and grounds, including road surfaces.
- Implement a departmental training program ensuring the necessary skills of all employees to perform their duties with the maximum efficiency.
- Ensure that all employees are fully familiar with and have a complete understanding of the Company's policies relating to Fire, Safety, Hygiene, and Health and that these policies are being strictly adhered to.
- Establish and implement Energy Efficiency Improvement Plan
- Recommend and/or execute management policies to hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, discharge, re-assign, or discipline employees.
Qualifications
I. Experience
8 - 10 years working experience from a 5-star hotel or large commercial property, industry building, shopping center in a similar capacity
II. Education
- Degree or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Holder of a valid Mechanical Engineer License
III. Skills / Competencies
- Good command in both written and spoken English.
- Good working knowledge in PC skills and use of all MS Office applications, including outlook and power point presentation.
- Excellent technical knowledge of Central Chillers and HVAC systems, High Tension Switch Board, transformers and Generators, Control circuits and Audio-Visual Systems.
- Good working knowledge of Fire Alarm and Fire Protection Systems, ELV systems, Steam and Hot Water Boilers, Plumbing & Drainage Systems, Water Treatment Program, Pool, Spa and Fitness Equipment and any other related systems.
- Preferably with AutoCAD drafting skills and other applications, such as, Jobs Order System, Engineering Maintenance Program and Purchasing System.
- Experience in Engineering Budget Forecast and Budget Control.
- Good leadership and able to make sound decision and perform other duties as and when required very last minute and at time of emergency.
- Hands-on and possess good problem fsolving skills and attend to details.
