What You'll Do in the Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented, creative, and proactive team member to take the lead on our Mailchimp email marketing while also contributing across design and marketing tasks. This role is perfect for someone who loves working with data and segmentation, understands the technical side of email marketing, and enjoys being part of a collaborative team.

Mailchimp is your core focus but we're also looking for someone who is flexible, open to learning, and happy to support the wider team when needed.

Mailchimp Campaign Management (Primary Focus)

You will be responsible for building, managing and optimising our email campaigns. You will:

• Build and schedule campaigns in Mailchimp
• Create and manage audience segments
• Use tags, links and custom fields correctly
• Insert and manage merge fields (FNAME, LNAME and custom fields)
• Set up buttons and ensure links are accurate
• Implement personalised and dynamic content
• Conduct test sends and troubleshoot errors
• Maintain clean and organised audience lists
• Format emails for desktop and mobile responsiveness
• Monitor campaign performance and suggest improvements

Segmentation & Data Management

You must be confident working with data and understanding how it flows inside Mailchimp.

This includes:

• Cleaning and formatting raw data in Excel before upload
• Working confidently with large datasets
• Creating segments based on criteria such as graduation ceremony details
• Managing multiple audiences
• Using conditional merge tags
• Setting up and troubleshooting dynamic content blocks
• Importing, structuring and maintaining accurate data
• Attention to detail is critical in this area.

Graphic Design Support

You will create email graphics and marketing assets while ensuring brand consistency.

You will design:

• Email headers, banners and campaign images
• Graphics for promotions and pre-order offers
• Product images
• Animated GIFs

You should have:

• Strong layout and typography skills
• Basic photo editing ability (cropping, colour correction, resizing)
• Ability to optimise images for fast loading
• Consistent application of brand styling

Knowing the tools:

• Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat
• GIF creation tools

Additional Responsibilities

We're a collaborative team, so you can learn and contribute to other areas:

• Assist with social media content (reels and posts)
• Review event photos and select suitable marketing images
• Support marketing projects when needed such as designing flyers, posters and other collateral
• Basic Shopify tasks and updates (with training)
