We're looking for a Digital Analytics Specialist to help our newsroom understand and grow our audience through data as part of Rappler's Data and Innovation team. This role will focus on collecting, analyzing, and interpreting audience and content performance metrics across our digital platforms, including our website, social media, and newsletters.
You'll turn complex data into clear, actionable insights that inform editorial strategy, content decisions, and newsroom goals.
You'll be part of a team that values journalism and data equally — helping our newsroom make smarter, more informed decisions about what we publish and how we serve our audience. This is an opportunity to grow your analytics skills in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze audience performance across platforms using tools such as Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Looker Studio (Data Studio), Google Search Console, social media analytics dashboards, and Rappler's suite of analytics platforms.
- Produce regular performance reports on audience growth, engagement, and content trends.
- Create and maintain custom dashboards and data visualizations for the newsroom and leadership.
- Collaborate with editors, reporters, and audience teams to translate data into insights that inform coverage decisions.
- Track and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) for stories, sections, and campaigns.
- Support A/B testing, SEO performance analysis, and other audience development experiments.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in analytics tagging, tracking, and reporting setups.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in digital analytics, preferably in a newsroom, media, or content-driven organization.
- Proficiency with Google Analytics 4, Looker Studio, and Google Tag Manager.
- Comfortable working with data exports and spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets).
- Strong understanding of audience metrics (sessions, engagement rate, retention, etc.) and their editorial implications.
- Excellent communication skills — able to present data and insights clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Detail-oriented, curious, and proactive about finding patterns and telling stories with data.
Bonus Skills
- Experience with BigQuery, SQL, or Python for deeper analysis.
- Familiarity with SEO, social media analytics, or newsletter metrics.
- Background or interest in journalism, communications, or digital media strategy.
