Site Head - Wind Projects

Location:

Koppal, Karnataka

Experience:

15-22 years (Minimum 200 MW+ Wind Project Execution experience mandatory)

Qualification:

BE / BTech in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical)

Job Purpose:

To lead end-to-end execution of large-scale wind power projects at site, ensuring timely commissioning, cost control, quality delivery, and adherence to safety and compliance standards, while leading multi-disciplinary site teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership & Execution

• Overall in-charge of site execution for wind projects of 200 MW+ capacity.

• Drive end-to-end execution including civil, electrical, mechanical, logistics, erection, and commissioning activities.

• Ensure project delivery as per schedule, budget, and quality benchmarks.

Stakeholder & OEM Management

• Act as the single point of contact at site for OEMs, EPC partners, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

• Coordinate closely with wind OEMs (Vestas / Siemens Gamesa / GE / Suzlon, etc.) for turbine supply, erection, and commissioning.

• Manage interfaces with land, ROW, local authorities, and statutory bodies.

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor a large cross-functional site team including project managers, package leads, engineers, HSE, and QA/QC.

• Drive accountability, performance management, and safety culture across site.

• Ensure effective manpower planning and productivity optimization.

Planning, Cost & Controls

• Prepare and monitor detailed execution plans and micro-schedules.

• Track project costs, variations, and claims flag risks proactively.

• Review contractor bills, progress certifications, and change orders.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure strict adherence to HSE standards, statutory requirements, and company safety protocols.

• Implement quality assurance processes across all execution packages.

• Lead audits, inspections, and management site reviews.

Reporting & Governance

• Provide regular progress updates, MIS, risk dashboards, and recovery plans to HO.

• Ensure compliance with internal governance, approvals, and documentation requirements.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Proven leadership in large-scale wind project execution (200 MW+).

• Strong understanding of wind turbine foundations, roads, crane infrastructure, erection, and commissioning.

• Excellent stakeholder management and decision-making skills.

• Strong commercial acumen in contract execution, claims, and cost control.

• Ability to handle complex, multi-vendor project environments.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with IPP companies (project ownership perspective).

• Exposure to multi-state wind projects and challenging terrains.

• Experience working with reputed wind OEMs.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Prior role as Site Head / Project Head / Senior Project Manager - Wind.

• Hands-on experience in leading large execution teams.

• Willingness to be based full-time at site (Koppal).
