About the Company

Phitopolis International Corporation is a research and development firm focused on doing fascinating work for our global clients. To make this happen, our experienced executives have built a first class technical team together. Together, with backing from investors in the USA, Europe and Hong Kong, we are committed to growing Phitopolis into a top-tier R&D firm.

About the role:

As a Network Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing, maintaining, and optimizing our network infrastructure to support high-performance systems in a dynamic FinTech environment. You will be responsible for ensuring network stability, security, and scalability across our global infrastructure. This role provides opportunities to collaborate with technical teams across the organization while contributing to the continuous improvement of network operations and system reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Architecture & Engineering

  • Architect, deploy, and maintain complex network infrastructures across data center, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Implement Anycast over BGP architectures to support globally distributed, resilient services.
  • Design and operate WireGuard-based overlays, secure mesh connectivity, and encrypted tunnels.
  • Leverage eBPF for advanced packet processing, observability, traffic shaping, and programmable data path enhancements.

SDN & Programmable Networking

  • Lead the design and implementation of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) solutions (ACI, NSX, Tungsten Fabric, Cilium, or equivalent).
  • Build programmable network functions using modern SDN controllers, APIs, and policy-driven workflows.

Automation & Orchestration

  • Drive infrastructure-as-code and automation using Terraform/OpenTofu, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Build reusable modules, policy frameworks, and automated provisioning workflows for network and security infrastructure.

Monitoring, Diagnostics & Observability

  • Utilize tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ICINGA, and eBPF-based instrumentation for deep visibility into network behavior.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting for latency, packet loss, congestion, BGP flaps, and cross-site connectivity issues.

Collaboration & Support

  • Work closely with Engineering, DevOps, and Data teams to ensure network capabilities meet application and platform needs.
  • Lead incident response, problem management, and post-incident reviews for network-related issues.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain detailed architecture diagrams, runbooks, policies, and operational documentation.
  • Drive innovation by evaluating emerging networking technologies and proposing enhancements to improve performance, cost, or reliability.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience as a Network Engineer in a mission-critical or high-performance environment.
  • Deep expertise in BGP, Anycast, OSPF, traffic engineering, and routing architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with eBPF for networking, observability, or data-path manipulation.
  • Strong experience implementing and operating WireGuard at scale.
  • Proven experience with SDN platforms (Cisco ACI, NSX, Cilium, Tungsten Fabric, or similar).
  • Strong proficiency in automation with Terraform/OpenTofu and Ansible.
  • Programming/scripting skills in Python, Go, or equivalent.
  • Advanced knowledge of switching, firewalls, VPNs, load balancing, and network security.
  • Hands-on experience managing DNS, DHCP, NTP/PTP and supporting core network services.
  • Proficiency with monitoring and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ICINGA, etc.).
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to analyze complex distributed systems.

Preferred/Nice to have:

  • Experience with high-frequency or latency-sensitive environments.
  • Familiarity with EVPN/VXLAN, MPLS, DPDK, XDP, or kernel networking internals.
  • Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE, or equivalent senior-level credentials.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Company perks and benefits:

  • Opportunity to travel abroad for immersion
  • Paid certification trainings
  • Access to online training tools and resources
  • Career development
