DevOps Engineer

Duties and responsibilities 

• CI/CD and Release Management 
• Design, implement and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for build, test and deployment. 
• Manage version control, branching and release processes across environments. 
• Integrate DevOps toolchains, including Git, build systems and release management tools. 
• Cloud and Infrastructure Management 
• Provision and manage infrastructure using Terraform, ARM templates and other IaC practices. 
• Manage Azure subscriptions, resource groups, access control and cost optimisation. 
• Optimise platform performance, reliability and operational efficiency. 
• Containerisation and Platform Operations 
• Support containerised application delivery using Docker and Kubernetes. 
• Manage container registries and platform services used by development and testing teams. 
• Monitoring, Security and Compliance 
• Implement monitoring, logging and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana or equivalent tools. 
• Apply DevOps security best practice and support compliance requirements. 
• Collaboration and Incident Management 
• Work closely with development, operations, QA and delivery teams to enable seamless software delivery. 
• Support troubleshooting and incident management in Dev/Test environments and drive fixes. 
• Automation and Continuous Improvement 
• Automate operational tasks using Python, PowerShell or shell scripting. 
• Maintain awareness of emerging DevOps technologies and best practice. 

Skills Base: 

• Strong knowledge of CI/CD platforms such as Azure DevOps, GitHub or equivalent tools. 
• Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services and cloud resource management. 
• Good knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code practices, including Terraform and ARM templates. 
• Good knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and container registries. 
• Good knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus and Grafana. 
• Strong scripting capability in Python, PowerShell or shell. 
• Understanding of .NET and Node.js application delivery environments. 
• Knowledge of DevOps security, access control and compliance practices. 

Qualifications/Experience 

• Minimum 5 to 7 years of DevOps, Platform Engineering or equivalent software delivery experience. 
• Hands-on experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and release processes. 
• Experience managing and deploying Azure cloud resources. 
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and container orchestration technologies. 
• Demonstrated collaboration and communication skills across development, operations and delivery teams. 
• Desirable: experience with GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted coding platforms. 
• Desirable: experience working across multi-cloud environments such as Azure and AWS.
