Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DevOps practices and tools, with expertise in Kubernetes, AWS (EKS, RDS, EC2, S3, etc.), monitoring, alerting, observability, microservices architecture, Kafka, Elasticsearch, CI/CD using ArgoCD and Github Actions, docker, distributed systems, backup, disaster recovery, terraform, and helm charts.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the architecture team to design, implement, and manage Kubernetes clusters on AWS EKS for our microservices-based applications, maintain AWS services including RDS, EC2, S3, and others to support our infrastructure needs.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using ArgoCD and GitHub Actions to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
• Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure the health and performance of our systems using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
• Establish observability into our systems by configuring logging, tracing, and metrics collection.
• Design and maintain Kafka clusters (Strimzi) to support our event-driven architecture.
• Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues in a timely manner.
• Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
• Utilise Terraform for infrastructure as code to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Relevant experience in a DevOps or related role.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes administration and management.
• Extensive experience with AWS services including EKS, RDS, EC2, S3, etc.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation.
• Strong background in monitoring, alerting, and observability practices and tools.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems concepts.
• Experience with Kafka for building scalable, real-time data pipelines.
• Solid understanding of backup and disaster recovery principles and methodologies.
• Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Experience managing Helm Charts for Kubernetes deployments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
• Knowledge of other monitoring and observability tools such as loki, cloudwatch, jaeger, alert manager etc.
