The Opportunity
We're looking for a Cloud / DevOps Engineer with strong AWS experience to support and enhance cloud environments for Australian enterprise clients.
This role will work across microservices, container platforms, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, monitoring, security, and cost optimisation.
You'll be working closely with Australian stakeholders, so strong communication, ownership, and the ability to work independently are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Design, implement, and maintain AWS-based microservices architectures
- Manage containerised workloads using EKS / ECS
- Work with Docker and Kubernetes
- Build and support serverless solutions where required
- Develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform / CloudFormation
CI/CD & Automation
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Work with tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, and Groovy scripting
- Automate deployments across EKS / ECS environments
- Support release management and version control best practices
Monitoring & Reliability
- Monitor systems using AWS CloudWatch
- Manage incidents, support root cause analysis, and contribute to post-incident reviews
- Identify trends and proactively implement improvements
- Support reliability and operational health across cloud environments
Cost Optimisation
- Monitor and optimise AWS spend
- Support implementation of Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and Spot strategies
- Conduct regular cost and performance reviews
Security & Networking
- Implement AWS security best practices across IAM, policies, and compliance
- Configure secure access, including VPN setup such as OpenVPN
- Work with internal teams to enforce cloud security standards
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with Australian stakeholders and internal delivery teams
- Provide clear daily, weekly, and monthly updates
- Create and execute structured health checks and reporting
- Take ownership of tasks and drive outcomes proactively
Required Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS
- Experience with AWS services including:
- EKS
- ECS
- EC2
- RDS
- S3
- API Gateway
- SQS / SNS
- Strong experience with AWS serverless architectures
- Terraform experience is essential
- CI/CD experience with:
- GitLab
- Jenkins
- Groovy scripting
- Monitoring experience with AWS CloudWatch
- Scripting experience using Bash, Python, or PowerShell
- Experience with tools such as:
- Jira
- Confluence
- Bitbucket
- Networking experience, ideally including OpenVPN

- Experience managing AWS budgets and cloud cost optimisation
- Strong background in operational health checks and cloud reporting
