JOB ROLE: DESIGN ENGINEER (Formworks and Falseworks)
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Design Engineer is responsible for the engineering design, analysis, and detailing of formwork and falsework systems for various construction projects. The role involves coordinating with project teams, ensuring designs comply with safety standards and project requirements, and providing technical support from planning through implementation.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Prepare detailed formwork and falsework designs, calculations, and drawings based on project specifications and construction methodology
- Conduct structural analysis to ensure formwork systems are safe, efficient, and compliant with applicable codes and standards
- Develop shop drawings, layouts, and material take-offs for formwork systems
- Coordinate with project engineers, construction managers, and site teams to address design requirements and site conditions
- Review architectural and structural plans to identify formwork requirements and potential design issues
- Provide technical support during the installation, erection, and dismantling of formwork systems
- Conduct site visits to verify implementation of approved designs and recommend necessary adjustments
- Ensure timely submission of design deliverables in accordance with project schedules
- Assist in value engineering by optimizing formwork design for cost efficiency, safety, and constructability
- Maintain proper documentation of designs, calculations, and revisions
- Comply with company policies, quality standards, and health and safety regulations
WHO YOU ARE:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Licensed Civil Engineer is preferred
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in formwork design or structural design within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of formwork systems, shoring, scaffolding, and falsework design
- Proficient in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or other structural design tools
- Knowledge of local and international design codes and construction standards
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction plans accurately
